Privacy Policy
Effective date: 9 August 2026
Fairbairn Constructions Pty Ltd (Fairbairn, we, us or our) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and in connection with website enquiries. We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
What we collect
Information you provide
When you submit the website enquiry form, email us or contact us by phone, we may collect:
- your name and email address;
- your phone number, if supplied;
- the project suburb, if supplied;
- the service you are interested in;
- project details and any other information you choose to provide; and
- records of later correspondence about your enquiry or project.
The website form requires your name, email address and project details. If you do not provide that information, we may not be able to respond meaningfully to your enquiry.
Technical information
Our web server and hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information when you visit the website. This may include your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, date and time of access, referring address, and security or diagnostic events. We use this information to operate, secure and troubleshoot the website.
What this website does not collect
The public website does not currently provide or use:
- online payments or collection of card or bank-account details;
- file uploads through the enquiry form;
- public user accounts or passwords;
- newsletter subscriptions;
- third-party advertising pixels or behavioural advertising; or
- third-party website analytics.
We do not ask for government identifiers, precise device location, health information or other sensitive information through the website. Please do not include sensitive information in the free-text enquiry field unless it is necessary for us to understand your request.
How we collect and hold information
We generally collect information directly from you through the website form, email, telephone conversations and later project correspondence. If another person refers you or contacts us on your behalf, we may receive your contact details and relevant project information from that person.
A website enquiry is sent to our business email address. The custom enquiry form does not create a separate enquiry record in the WordPress database. Copies may be retained in business email systems, correspondence, project files, backups and records maintained by service providers acting for us.
Why we collect and use information
We may collect, hold and use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
- understand a proposed project and assess whether we may be able to assist;
- arrange discussions, inspections, consulting or construction services;
- prepare proposals, estimates, agreements and project records;
- manage our business relationships and administration;
- operate, maintain and secure the website; and
- meet legal, regulatory, insurance and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell or rent personal information and do not use website enquiry details for unrelated direct marketing.
When information may be disclosed
We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to:
- website hosting, email, IT, backup and professional service providers that support our business;
- consultants, trades, suppliers or other project participants, where this is necessary for an enquiry or engagement and appropriate in the circumstances;
- our insurers, accountants, legal advisers or other professional advisers; and
- government bodies, regulators, courts or other parties where required or authorised by law.
We seek to limit disclosures to information reasonably required for the relevant purpose.
Overseas processing
We do not intentionally disclose website enquiry information to overseas advertising or analytics providers. Some hosting, email, backup or technology providers may store or process information using systems located outside Australia. The countries involved can depend on the provider and its infrastructure. You may contact us for current information about service providers relevant to your enquiry.
Cookies
The public website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. WordPress may use essential cookies for authorised administrators and other necessary site functions. Our hosting provider may also use technical measures required for security, reliability and traffic management.
Security and retention
We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No website, email or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, our business needs, dispute management, and applicable legal, insurance and record-keeping requirements. Information that is no longer required is deleted, destroyed or de-identified where reasonably practicable.
